  35 <p class="first">Once upon a time my mother found a kitten. This kitten was a very
  36 skittish tiny kitten and hid behind the fridge for days eluding
  37 capture. Thus my mother bestowed the quite American name <em>Maytag</em> upon
  38 the tiny gray kitten.</p>

  40 <p>Eventually my mother accepted that her dog and the kitten would never
  41 get along, and the cat had taken a liking to me, and thus Maytag
  42 became my ward.</p>
