6 code strings that have been stored in the shader object
7 specified by <em class="parameter"><code>shader</code></em>.</p><p>The compilation status will be stored as part of the
8 shader object's state. This value will be set to
9 <code class="constant">GL_TRUE</code> if the shader was compiled without
10 errors and is ready for use, and <code class="constant">GL_FALSE</code>
11 otherwise. It can be queried by calling
12 <a href="glGetShader.xml"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">glGetShader</span></span></a>
13 with arguments <em class="parameter"><code>shader</code></em> and
14 <code class="constant">GL_COMPILE_STATUS</code>.</p><p>Compilation of a shader can fail for a number of reasons
15 as specified by the OpenGL Shading Language Specification.
16 Whether or not the compilation was successful, information about
17 the compilation can be obtained from the shader object's
18 information log by calling
19 <a href="glGetShaderInfoLog.xml"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">glGetShaderInfoLog</span></span></a>.</p></div><div class="refsect1" lang="en" xml:lang="en"><a id="errors"></a><h2>Errors</h2><p><code class="constant">GL_INVALID_VALUE</code> is generated if

21 OpenGL.</p><p><code class="constant">GL_INVALID_OPERATION</code> is generated if
