25 <code class="function">glGetCompressedTexImage</code> returns the compressed texture image associated with <em class="parameter"><code>target</code></em> and <em class="parameter"><code>lod</code></em>
26 into <em class="parameter"><code>img</code></em>. <em class="parameter"><code>img</code></em> should be an array of
27 <code class="constant">GL_TEXTURE_COMPRESSED_IMAGE_SIZE</code> bytes.

38 To minimize errors, first verify that the texture is compressed by calling
39 <a href="glGetTexLevelParameter.xml"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">glGetTexLevelParameter</span></span></a> with argument <code class="constant">GL_TEXTURE_COMPRESSED</code>. If
40 the texture is compressed, then determine the amount of memory required to
41 store the compressed texture by calling <a href="glGetTexLevelParameter.xml"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">glGetTexLevelParameter</span></span></a> with
42 argument <code class="constant">GL_TEXTURE_COMPRESSED_IMAGE_SIZE</code>. Finally, retrieve the
43 internal format of the texture by calling <a href="glGetTexLevelParameter.xml"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">glGetTexLevelParameter</span></span></a> with
44 argument <code class="constant">GL_TEXTURE_INTERNAL_FORMAT</code>.
45 To store the texture for later use, associate the internal format and size
46 with the retrieved texture image. These data can be used by the respective
47 texture or subtexture loading routine used for loading <em class="parameter"><code>target</code></em> textures.

49 <code class="constant">GL_INVALID_VALUE</code> is generated if <em class="parameter"><code>lod</code></em> is less than zero or greater
