+<p class="first">Once upon a time my mother found a kitten. This kitten was a very
+skittish tiny kitten and hid behind the fridge for days eluding
+capture. Thus my mother bestowed the quite American name <em>Maytag</em> upon
+the tiny gray kitten.</p>
+
+<p>Eventually my mother accepted that her dog and the kitten would never
+get along, and the cat had taken a liking to me, and thus Maytag
+became my ward.</p>
