70
Once upon a time I brewed beer. Then I lost access to my roommate's
23108524 71kettle owing to moving three hundred miles, and there was much sadness
72for my poor kit lacked all but this very expensive kettle. A new
73kettle has finally fallen into my hands, and so beer may be brewed
74again.

78
79
I started brewing again with a few friends (makes it much easier to
80actually get around to doing it when you have help). Since multiple
81people are involved we are using a wiki to collaborate. This poor page
82will probably remain dusty because I can just put things there
83instead.

cd536704 89
I decided to at least make a stab at being unlazy and actually linking
90to the files that are stored with the website. I keep a reasonable
91brewing log (probably dry and boring to almost everyone) in the files
92themselves.

23108524 93
d55b30bd 94
I'm only bothering to list recipes that have been brewed and bottled
95here—information on anything in the pipeline is at the brewing wiki
96since it is liable to change a lot.

97
98
Since old trusty QBrew is no longer actively maintained and Brewtarget
99is I've switched over to that. Meaning my newer recipes are in BeerXML
100that theoretically can be imported into other programs, but may very
101well only work in Brewtarget.

9be210c0 104English IPA

105
106
We had a lot of leftover ingredients after
107Steve's amazing brewing Odyssey, most of them English grains and
108hops. As such I threw together the leftovers into what seemed like it
109would be a good approximation of an English IPA. We even threw this
110onto the yeast cake of the last batch in the wedding brews (an ESB).

d55b30bd 111
9be210c0 112
Unfortunately, it was a wee bit underwhemling. Since we have a fancy
113temperature controlled fridge now, I decided to brew around 68F (no
114risk of overshooting). It came out slightly musty and generally
115bland... still, for being made from leftovers it's alright.

124
125
Cheap and quick to make, this is ready to drink after a quick
126fermentation and as soon as the bottles carbonate. The chamomile
127really shines here adding a honey-like note; the ginger adds
128additional earthiness and a bit of zing; Sorachi Ace hops finish
129everything up with notes of lemon cream.
